by Shea Smith, Cherokee Nation Citizen

I am beyond grateful to be a part of NAJA. Diversity in journalism is what drives its success; since I joined NAJA and honored as a fellow, I have opened dialogues in classes and among peers about the usage of Native American culture and our heritage. I will go forward in my career forever mindful of the importance and respect Native American communities deserve.

The Native American Journalists Association strives to empower journalists and voices in Indian Country.
