Google News Initiative to host journalist training Nov. 4

SPJ, NAJA, NAHJ and NABJ to co-host Google tools training at OU Gaylord College in Norman, OK

NORMAN, Oklahoma — Journalists can learn to use Google tools that provide valuable ways to access and process information for the betterment of their stories during a training event Nov. 4 at the University of Oklahoma, Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication.

Food will be served from 5:30-6:30 p.m., at the Inasmuch Foundation Commons outside the Gaylord Auditorium, room 1140 and the training will start at 7 p.m. inside the auditorium. Attendees should bring a laptop or tablet to participate in the hands-on training. 

The guest speaker will be Sandra Gonzalez, who has reported for more than 20 years in TV and radio, across Dallas and New Orleans.

The event is sponsored by the Society of Professional Journalists, Google News Initiative, National Association of Hispanic Journalists, Native American Journalists Association and National Association of Black Journalists.
