National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NNHAAD) is observed annually on March 20. NNHAAD increases awareness, starts conversations and spotlights the work being done to reduce HIV in Indigenous communities and shows support for people with HIV in these communities.
NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists is proud to partner with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Native American Journalists Association as part of their Partnering and Communicating Together (PACT) program and Let’s Stop HIV Together campaign to empower communities, partners, and healthcare providers to reduce HIV stigma and promote prevention, testing and treatment among all people in the United States.
You can raise awareness of HIV among Indigenous communities and provide information on access to care using CDC’s Let’s Stop HIV Together campaign resources. The Let’s Stop HIV Together campaign is part of the national Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) initiative.
Share these posts and images on social media tagging #NNHAAD and #StopHIVTogether leading up to NNHAAD and on the day of the observance, March 20.
