
PHOENIX ā The Native American Journalists Association will host the National Native Media Conference Aug. 25-27, 2022 at the Hyatt Regency Phoenix.
The 2022 National Native Media Conference program agenda covers best practices in Indigenous media, training and workshops to support and enhance the knowledge and skills of journalists covering Indigenous communities. NAJA will also offer on-demand content to members and attendees through a virtual platform at the close of the conference.
Daily breakfast is included with each full registration, however, special meal event tickets must be purchased separately.
Tickets for the NAJA Membership Meeting and Business Luncheon on Thursday, Aug. 25 are available for purchase for $75. NAJA will present the 2022 NAJA-Medill Milestone Achievement Award during the luncheon and an informal meet-and-greet with NAJA Board of Directors candidates will follow.
Tickets to the National Native Media Awards Banquet on Saturday, Aug. 27 are available for purchase for $100. Banquet tickets must be purchased separately from registration. For more information email: contact@naja.com.
Silent Auction
NAJA is now accepting donations for the Silent Auction on Aug. 27 during the annual National Native Media Awards Banquet. An online auction will enhance the bidding process, and open Aug. 20. All proceeds from the auction support scholarships for Indigenous students pursuing media careers. Attendees can preview items on the online auction site.
Donors may submit items for the auction, either in-person during the event or by shipping in advance July 25 – Aug. 15. Suggested donations include: Indigenous art, clothing, jewelry and beaded items. Unique items are welcome and all donations are 100 percent tax-deductible. Donors should include a description of their donated items, estimated value and high-resolution image(s) as outlined in the 2022 Silent Auction Donation Form.
NAJA Elections
NAJA elections will be held online and in-person Aug. 20-27 for the board of directors. In-person voting will take place on Aug. 27, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., local time during the conference. An informal candidate forum will follow the NAJA Membership Meeting and Business Luncheon on Thursday, Aug. 25 from 12-2 p.m.
