Conference Call for Proposals due

February 14, 2019 - February 15, 2019

The Native American Journalists Association (NAJA) is now accepting program proposals for the 2019 National Native Media Conference in association with the 2019 Native American Nutrition Conference in Prior Lake, Minnesota. The conference program will feature Indigenous media, journalism training, education and knowledge sharing, with a focus on food systems, nutrition and health in Indian Country.

If you have an idea for a conference session and are interested in participating in the conference, review the information below, agree to the terms and submit your proposal form before Feb. 15, 2019.

NAJA seeks program proposals that are informative, educational and training-based. The primary focus of the 2019 National Native Media Conference is to be an educational, skills-building, career-oriented conference. Conference planners seek sessions led by Native journalists teaching in-depth skills and sharing new insights on media in Indian Country. Proposals successfully weaving media and food sovereignty together will be given preference in the program. Attendees of each conference will have the chance to attend some joint meals, events and keynote presentations. Proposals that explore robust data of Native American populations are also encouraged.

NAJA will determine the date and time that programs are presented Sept. 15-18, 2019. Producers whose programs are accepted will have the opportunity to indicate preferred dates and times, but should prepare programs that could be presented on any of the conference’s three days.
