WBTV is looking for an aggressive multimedia journalist who loves to break news and has to be first. You must be self-contained, able to multitask, quick on your feet, and manage your time well. We need a journalist who connects with the viewer during live shots and who can tell a clear, compelling story. You must include a link to samples of your on-air work with your resume. If available, please include a link to digital work as well.
• Pitch 3 viable, developed story ideas per shift (not topics)
• Develop and cultivate sources
• Shoot, write, edit a minimum of one package and one vosot in an 8 hour shift
• Write a digital article for each story you cover
• Post and interact on multiple social media platforms daily
-Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field preferred
-Minimum of 3 years of experience as an MMJ required, additional experience preferred Social media proficiency required
-Excellent communication and time management skills
-Strong writing skills (broadcast and print styles)
-Must be able to lift 25-30 lbs and pass a pre-employment drug screen and motor vehicle background check
