Ted Scripps Fellowships in Environmental Journalism at the University of Colorado, Boulder are open to U.S. journalists (reporters, editors, producers and freelancers) working in print or broadcast with a minimum of five years’ full-time experience.

Prior experience covering the environment is not necessary. Five fellowships are awarded annually. Fellows take classes, attend special seminars, take field trips, and engage in independent study at a university renowned for its environmental science and policy studies.

The program provides a $71,000 stipend. It also covers tuition and provides a desk-top computer. Employment begins at the start of the Fall semester and runs for nine months through the end of the Spring semester. Deadline: March 1 annually.
